The city of Fallon is in high desert country, surrounded by miles of lush green pastures which transform the landscape into an oasis. The nearby area is well known for its great year-round activities, such as fishing, hunting, camping, biking, swimming, and water/snow skiing. You can experience a part of history as you travel along the old Pony Express Route, and visit the Sand Mountain Recreation Area, Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge, and Lahontan Reservoir. Fallon is famous for being home to NAS Fallon which houses “Top Gun” and the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center. Fallon is also the home of “Hearts ‘O Gold” Cantaloupes which are featured at the yearly Cantaloupe Festival on Labor Day weekend. Fallon is also the county seat for Churchill County.

Fallon is near many recreational venues such as Sand Mountain, Lahontan Reservoir, Walker Lake,  Pyramid Lake, the Stillwater Wildlife Refuge, and Grimes Point. Minutes away are numerous locations to go horseback riding, jogging or hiking.
